I stood up by the log cabin at the Russell Cottages over looking the bay for two or three afternoons. I couldn't believe that I tried to tackle this piece with all of the perspectives! This was painted during the Grand Marais, MN paint out.

This work was painted during the Grand Marais, MN paint out. I was looking down the hill at the fish shop and bay area. The light was wonderful and this small town has unbelievable beauty from all over.
Thank you! This painting is in Grand Marais, MN which is about 125 miles north of Duluth on Hwy 61 on Lake Superior. Lots of perspective! With great morning light! The red building is the fish market and restaurant.

This was the first live figure study that I did in the Sherri McGraw workshop. Warm shadows, cool lights and then there in non-color!!! So much to learn in five days! Art is a life long adventure and school.... have fun on the ride!

This was painted in the gardens at the Nicolai Fechin Museum in Taos, NM. Lu Lu was our model for the Saturday morning painting group. It was great fun after a very intense week of painting/workshop with Sherri McGraw.

This was another of my paintings from the paint out in Aitkin, MN. I was in a swamp area and was covered with mosquitos! I must be crazy!!!!!!! I loved this boat and had to paint it.

Kris this is awesome. I love the texture in the trees and foreground and the reflections in the water. Your plein airs have just been wonderful. maybe you should teach a workshop....out west somewhere......:)

Hi Diane, Thanks, wish you would have been able to come and join us at the paint out! We had a great time and we should try to get up to Grand Marais next year! I would love to come to Cody this year too!!!! Maybe at the last moment, I will just jump in the car and go out west to Cody,Wy and join all of you crazy artists.
